Maddy
Devon's
Angels
Maddy is a 7th grader at Robert Frost Middle School. She loves music,
especially Billie Eilish, cherishes her summers at sleepaway camp,
and loves “chilling” with her friends.
Maddy seems like your typical Montgomery County, Maryland
middle schooler; however she is anything but.
When DCRF was founded, Maddy's first question was, "what can I do to help?"
She put her words into action as she volunteered at DCRF's inaugural fundraising event in September 2019 and actively encouraged others to participate.
Maddy shares our passion to change the stigma attached to mental illness
and educate others on suicide prevention.
Recently Maddy became Bat Mitzvah. In the Jewish religion, when young people go through the religious ritual to become recognized as adults, they perform "tzedakah";
a project involving charitable giving. For Maddy's tzedakah, she proudly donated a generous portion of her bat mitzvah gifts to the Devon C. Rubenstein Foundation.
Her gift will go a long way towards helping us achieve our mission!
Maddy, it is critical that we have the support of young adults like you to help prevent suicide within your peer group. We are grateful you have joined us in our mission and look to you to help motivate others to make a difference in their community.
It is for all these reasons that we proudly recognize Maddy as a Devon’s Angel.
Thank you Maddy for being such an inspiration and role model.
Maddy, we appreciate your kind and generous spirit.
